Adem Toprak
Visual Artist
Adem Toprak was born in 1989 in Siirt. He completed his undergraduate education at the Department of Sculpture, Faculty of Fine Arts of Dokuz Eylül University. After graduation, he participated in various projects in the field of culture and art in different cities of Turkey, and worked as an art instructor between 2014 and 2016. In 2017, he applied to the graduate program at his university because he wanted to continue with his education, and is currently a postgraduate student. The artist concentrates on the concepts of “image of the artist and perception of nature ” and continues his works in this context. The artist has been working with traditional sculpture practice for many years, but has recently started to go beyond the traditional understanding of sculpture and turned to interdisciplinary production. His work “Samsara”, which he made with the stems of the palm tree for the Glob Era project, and the works he has done in the exhibition “Distances” can be shown as examples of the artist’s latest works. His sculptures exhibited permanently include “elephant”, “rhino” and “chimpanzee” sculptures at “Karatarakli Fine Arts High School”, and the “Dengbej” sculpture he made in 2016 and exhibited at the “Dengbej House” museum in Cologne, Germany. He continues his works in his atelier in İzmir.

It is a reflection of the mathematical systems in the coming together of the objects by examining the structural values of the nature. The systematic organization of the relationship of the unit elements (part-whole) in the three main forms.
