He was born in Istanbul in 1960 and continues his life as a lecturer, art and culture critic and radio programmer in Istanbul. He teaches “Basic Design Philosophy” for undergraduate students and “Space and Body Representations” for graduate students at Department of City and Regional Planning, Faculty of Architecture of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University; and he teaches “Body Representations” and “Nature Representations” at Istanbul Bilgi University. He writes culture and art articles in the newspaper “BirGün” every Friday, and prepares and presents a culture and art program called “Yolgeçen”, broadcast every fortnight on Mondays on Açık Radyo. In addition, he is the writer of the book “Cerrahpaşa, Yedinci Tepe” (Heyamola Publications, 2010), which is a district monograph, “On Vintage, Culture, Politics and Everyday Life” (Studyo Imge Publications, 2002), which he wrote with Süreyyya Evren, and “Another World is Possible” (Studyo Imge Publications, 2002). He has translated many books including Rudolf Arnheim’s “Visual Thinking” (Metis Publications), Andrew Ballantyne’s “Deleuze and Guattari for Architects” (YEM), Philip Goodchild’s “Deleuze and Guattari / An Introduction to the Politics of Desire” (Detail Publications). He continues her studies on the social and artistic history of the body and nature, gender, queer theory and cultural studies.
